Album of the Day:
William Clarke – The Hard Way (1996)

Blues harmonica player William Clarke moved towards a jazzier sound during his tenure at Alligator Records, but there’s still plenty of straight blues to be heard. This was his fourth and last album for them before his death later that year at 45.
The rigours of a heavy touring schedule on the road led to his deteriorating health including congestive heart failure and a bleeding ulcer, making “Blues Is Killing Me” a poignant memorial.
