Album of the Day:
King Biscuit Boy With Crowbar – Official Music (1970)

Yesterday’s feature of Sonny Boy Williamson II and the mention of King Biscuit Time reminded me of Hamilton’s Richard Newell, who was given the name King Biscuit Boy by Ronnie Hawkins when Richard was playing as part of Hawkins’ backup band. As had happened in 1964 with what would become The Band, there was a split from Hawkins in 1970, and Crowbar came into being.

This is the one album that King Biscuit Boy recorded with Crowbar before launching his solo career. Lots of excellent Steel City Blues Rock from South Western Ontario.
